The birth of a new sailing class.
We want to build on the One Design and IRC success seen in the UK and Europe by creating a Cape 31 class in Australia. Versatility is important and as such, the global one-design rules translate into a competitive IRC performer.
The initial goal is to race within current established IRC fleets and compete at the multitude of major regattas available in Australia. The long-term goal is to build a true all-round Class that can easily switch from IRC Racing to Class Racing. The formation of an Australian Cape 31 class association will ensure the fleet supports owners and crews, while delivering close and competitive racing.
